Refurbishment of the Dental Clinic at the Farwaniya Hospital

Once again, at Ideatec we have the pleasure of presenting you one of our projects, of which we are proud to have been a part . This time we have reached the Persian Gulf, specifically to the city of Kuwait. It is the acoustic conditioning of a meeting space within the Farwaniya Hospital Dental Clinic.

The work began in 2016 and consisted of expanding a hospital with the aim of expanding and improving its services. One of the units added was a dental clinic with an auditorium for meetings or conferences for outreach. In a space as important as this, it is essential to carry out adequate acoustic conditioning. This can be done to achieve acoustic comfort in the room by minimizing the reverberation phenomenon, isolate the room from the rest of the building and prevent sound from spreading outside, or a combination of both.

The team of architects with whom we had the pleasure of collaborating was Al-Habshi Consultants, a leading company in Kuwait architecture with extensive experience in the sector. Thanks to this collaboration we were able to install an agile and versatile solution, meeting expectations in terms of acoustic quality and aesthetics of the space.

The project consisted of the installation of suitable acoustic absorbent material to reduce noise. In auditoriums, it is essential to stop the annoying reverberation and ensure that those present hear clearly what is happening on stage and that there is no loss of information. To do this, the Ideatec team installed wood acoustic panels Ideatec acustic, a solution as effective as it is elegant.

Wood is one of the most functional acoustic absorbers, trapping and dissipating sound waves. In this case, both the side walls and the ceiling of the room were covered with the product High 16, enough to absorb the noise produced in the stalls. The chosen finish was Beech melamine and veneer, which combined perfectly with the interior design of the room. This product has an acoustic absorption and noise reduction coefficient of 0.7 for 5cm of total height of the Plenum plus 4cm of rock wool, making it ideal for a small-sized auditorium like this one, providing very good results and a spectacular finish.

Some additional features of these products are that they are panels resistant to both impacts and scratches, factors that are very important in spaces with a large influx of people every day. In addition, they are easily washable products, so they require minimal maintenance. At ideatec we adjust to the acoustic and aesthetic demands of the room as well as the needs of the client, so if you wish, these panels can be curved using the FLEX system and present different treatments, such as water-repellent and fire-retardant.

With this, we are proud to present the result of our work, carried out by our professionals with great dedication for the Dental Clinic of the Farwaniya Hospital in Kuwait, in which a quality acoustic conditioning was achieved .
