Maderalia is the quintessential Spanish event in the wood, furniture, carpentry and interior design sector. This year it has been held in Valencia from February 6 to 9, and Ideatec has been present. In it, the latest innovations in wood products, materials and components for furniture as well as in technology, machinery and software for this industry are presented. This event is held together with CEVISAMA, the trade fair for the ceramic tile and flooring, ceramic machinery and bathroom equipment sectors in general.
This edition of Maderalia has brought together different prescribers and companies in the sector around wood, as well as professional and international visitors. One of the main themes was the consolidation of the good forecasts of the sector of manufacturers of machinery and technology for wood. Some of the advances that have been seen revolve around the figure of the end customer: the market has become more up-to-date and dynamic, requiring companies in the sector to adapt to customer needs, ensuring the services that cover them and offering guarantees.
Forums, conferences and other activities
The Maderalia Forum hosted such important events as the I Sustainable Contract Meeting, in which different architecture studios presented projects and success stories in this sector. In addition, the event featured a forum for companies and professionals of automatic doors and conferences and activities around wood and its use as a material for architecture and construction. The highlight was the “Easy Contract” installation by the architect Ramón Esteve, which recreated four rooms of an Asian-inspired urban hotel, conceived as a whole. To do this, it used materials and products provided by the exhibitors and that provide strong resistance to abrasion cycles, porosity, impermeability, sealing, intense traffic and the passage of time.
But Maderalia is not only a showcase for exhibiting companies, but visitors also take advantage of this event to purchase machinery and technology for furniture and wood.
Ideatec was present at this fair with a promotional stand with, among others, the new Ideafoam Plus line, which stands out for its easy installation and the possibility of combining its products. In addition, other products were present, such as Colortex sound-absorbing lacquered textile modules for walls and ceilings, and Micro 05 sound-absorbing micro-perforated wood acoustic panels for false ceilings and wall coverings. Likewise, Ideafelt was presented, a new Ideatec product that will soon be in the catalogue.
Maderalia closed its doors on February 9 with better figures than the previous edition, confirming the upward trend in the sector. It brought together a total of 783 firms and brands, of which 466 were direct exhibitors. These came from a total of 15 different countries such as Italy, Germany, Austria or the United States, which represents a growth of 30%. The number of professional visitors also increased with a figure that exceeds 35,000, 23.4% more than Maderalia 2016, also growing 19% in foreign visitors.
